Burçin is one of my favourite Turkish female singers. I first heard her music at a small cafe in the village of Uchisar while visiting Turkey in 2001 and managed to track down a copy of her initial CD in Istanbul just before flying home. I play it often! Then thanks to Tulumba I came across the "Bence..." CD highlighted here, which seems to be a compilation of tracks from Burçin's first release and a later one, "Zahidem" (?) Last week I gave a copy of the music of Burçin to a Turkish couple here in Seattle who run a wonderful little Latte and Gelatto shop in the Wallingford district -- while I enjoyed my food, they soon became caught up in singing along to the classic Turkish folk songs of Burçin. You should too! John Berg
